inspirational renders

“Aesthetic propositions shift consumers' motivations from functional and transactional to experiential, aspirational, and memorable.” -Pauline Brown

We worked with a luxury leather brand to create a series of beautiful and inspiring images to highlight the features of their latest collection.

We were given samples of their olive-tanned, pull-up leather and developed 3 main concepts. Here, I’ll focus on the Villa concept, since it’s the one I was most involved in.

Image gathering: mediterranean, bright, luxurious, natural

EXPLORATION

The client wanted to convey warmth and luxury while keeping the focus on the high-quality texture of the leather. While they provided some initial references, we explored further to refine the direction.

We studied trends in interiors and furniture. I was most inspired by the light, almost delicate nature of these images- something we carried through to the final execution.

MOOD BOARD

This was a meditation on the textures, emotions, colors and process involved in the collection. Taking an abstract view helped me to see that we were telling a story, not just making an image.

CONCEPT SKETCH

This sketch gave direction for the final design of the couch, as well as the overall composition of the image.

FINAL RENDER

ADDITIONAL RENDER

We worked with Garrett Leather to generate excitement around their new product. This was one of my favorite projects to date. I learned a lot about expressing form through 3D models, as well as the nuance required to breathe life into a static image.

The client was excited about the final result, and the image has been featured on multiple promotional images and videos.

FURTHER EXPLORATION - Summer 2023

The scope of this project did not allow us to explore any physical applications of the leather, but realism was a constant consideration. In order to further understand the design in a physical space, I printed a 3D model. This allowed me to imagine further iterations such as a loveseat.
